Hot vs Not: Florals

Some guidelines when it comes to florals...

-Wispy shirts
-Silk scarves
-Cute bikinis

-Pants (ack!)
-Flowery perfume
-Clashing patterns
-Shapeless tunics

That's right, I actually saw a pair of flower-printed pants. They may or may not have been cordurouy. Shiver!

Let's all pause and have a moment of silent envy.
My BFF is going away for the rest of the summer to California and getting paid gobs of money to do a ridiculously easy job. Seriously. Who wouldn't kill to be able to go laze around in the sun all day yelling at kids?! She scored like the best-paying, most-amazing summer job... watching a kid.
No, really, that's all.
In fucking California.
With like a crazy salary.
Not to mention I'm going to miss her like hell... <333

I love...

I love getting comments.
They make me happy in fifty different ways.
Just letting you know.

Oh em gee.

Gosh, I've been really really really ridiculously TIRED lately, so I haven't been blogging as much. Not like anyone reads this shit anyway. Sooo, random update on my day? I had a math final this morning, which I was like SOOO stressing about, but afterwards, I was all, wow, that was the easiest hour of my life. Anyway, I went for chai and shopping with my BFFs, I bought a new belt, but that's it. WEIRD. Everyone else was like going nuts, and yet I spent under thirty dollars. Maybe I'm losing my mind. So, that's approximately my day. See, I'm boring. It's no wonder nobody reads this.

Oh I'm back to a yellow background by the way. It's super amazing. LV just wasn't doing it for me anymore.

Ohhhh lorrrddddd.

Nouvelles passionnantes superbes!

And stop wearing pashminas, or whatever you're calling those scarfs. Honestly. That's okay till like early May. And I know it's been cloudy, but an overcast day does not make it a scarf wearing day.

How to look fab... for the moment.

Okay so this is what's hot RIGHT NOW...

-Prints! Prints are so in, it's not even funny. My personal fave being African-print-style tops. Not safari though, safari is way April. Anyway. Other in prints include floral, butterflies, stars, and geometric shapes. I'm especially loving geometric dresses with blocks of bold colors.

-Pale denim. If you're wearing denim, make it light and make it distressed... so toss out those indigo skinnies for some artfully frayed, hip-hugging, almost-white lowrise boot cuts.

-Yellow is hot right now, and will continue to be at least into midsummer, so stock up! And I'm not talking last winter's mustard hues, I'm talking YELLOW, in all it's bold, vibrant glory!

-Neon; BUT BE CAREFUL. Do not get carried away and pull a 1985 ensemble. I'm thinking something along the lines of a lime belt here, a hot-pink bangle there. Of course, not at the same time. Stick with one piece per outfit... may I suggest some cute shades in tropical orange?

-Okay, so I was a little wrong with my prediction that pinstraight was the way to be. Make that way wrong. At the moment, your hair should be in loose (VERY loose, like as loose as LiLo) waves. I suggest letting your hair air dry when you get out of the shower, letting it do it's own little "I just went swimming" style thang.

-Bobs are hot right now, but don't go cutting all your hair off, because I'm not sure how long this one will be okay for.

-You're going to be skeptical... but side ponytails. Nonono, not the high up above the ear with a scrunchie kind... more like fastened subtly at the side of the neck and draping over one shoulder kind. Trust me.

-Well as far as nails are concerned, white is in. Way in. But please don't pull a grade three and go Wite-Out on that shit. I reccomend Chanel Le Vernis in White Satin.

-Buy a new bronzer, seriously. I mean it. Even if you've got Jlo skin going on already, a light bronzer can replace a foundation for the summer months.

-Sheer blues, greens, and coral pinks really make eyes pop on a summery tan...

Please, please, for the sake of everyone who looks at you, do not wear all of these at once.

Okay. Guess what.
I have to get fucking reading glasses!
I'm doomed to a world of looking deceivingly smart!
I mean, glasses can be way hot.
But seriously... reading glasses... it sounds like the plight of a fifty three year old woman. Not me. I'm gonna have to get something fierce to make up for how dorky it sounds.
Brand suggestions?

Eep... seven!

So I realised that I commited every single cardinal sin today!
I committed Sloth because I slept in like half an hour after my alarm went off.
This was shortly followed by Gluttony, when I ate two bowls of gross cereal with full-fat milk.
I also fell victim to Pride, when walking past a car window that I checked myself out in I was like "Dayummm" cause my hair looked good for once.
Greed was when I didn't give money to a homeless guy because I really wanted a chai latte.
I also committed Lust, when my friends were talking about Gossip Girl, and I was like thinking about how fucking awesome it would be to do unholy things to Ed Westwick.
I was Wrathful (...that's a word, right?) when this girl told me my LV Ellipse manbackpack looks fake, and I totally snapped at her and got way bitchy.
And last, but not least, my Envy moment was when I saw a guy in D&G jeans, and was like completely amazed at how nice they were and how good they looked on him, and wished for like ever that my jeans weren't American Eagle.
So now I'm going to hell, because not only have I committed them all, but I committed them all in a less-than-12-hour timeframe.
And also God hates faggots.
The afterlife is lookin' peachy.

RIP Yves Saint Laurent...

What a cruel twist of fate that not a week after Yves Saint Laurent is mentioned in my blog he should be taken away from us. Saint Laurent, 71, sometimes referred to as the world's greatest couturier, passed away in Paris this Sunday evening of a brain tumor he was diagnosed with last year.
I like to think he died peacefully. Personally one of my favorite designers, I imagine he had a lot more to offer. Anyway, I won't bore you with a biography, but please keep him in your thoughts.
